This family can trace their roots right back to the Domesday Book, whether I am connected to that same family is yet to be determined.

Although I have traced other Pomeroy's back to the 14th Century I can't find out who James' father was. He would have been born about 1760, probably in Brixham and he might have a brother called Roger.
